I was born and raised in Nigeria and came to the United States at the age of 22 with just $10 in my pocket and $1,000 in debt from borrowing money for my flight ticket. As a first-generation immigrant, I quickly learned the value of hard work, resilience, and determination. I joined the U.S. Navy, where I served for 20 years, rising to the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer.

 

My time in the Navy taught me discipline, leadership, and the importance of service. It also gave me my first experience in financial counseling as a Command Financial Specialist, where I helped service members and their families navigate financial challenges. This role opened my eyes to the urgent need for financial literacy, particularly for middle-class families.

While serving in the Navy, I earned my bachelor’s and master’s degrees, preparing for my transition into the financial services industry. Today, I’m proud to partner with over 190 top-tier financial organizations to deliver innovative and accessible financial solutions.

 

Outside of work, I’m deeply committed to my community, volunteering at my church and supporting veterans through organizations like Veterans of Foreign Wars. I also cherish spending time with my family and living by my core values: faith, family, finance, fitness, and fun.
